The Defence Intelligence College (DIC), Nigeria, in partnership with Renown Consult Ltd, will host a four-day Integrated Border Intelligence and Security Management Workshop, holding from 17th to 20th August 2026 at the Defence Intelligence College Auditorium, Karu, Abuja.
The workshop is themed “Reinventing Strategies for Strengthening Security of Border Areas in Nigeria”, and is designed to bring together security stakeholders to address the growing challenges posed by porous borders and evolving threats to Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
Key Objectives
The workshop aims to:
- Evaluate the impact of porous borders on national security and formulate ways to strengthen the defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity
- Interrogate existing frameworks for intelligence-led border security management and identify pillars for fostering coordinated border security governance
- Proffer ways to strengthen the application of strategic technologies and determine the essentials for 360-degree border surveillance
- Bolster situational awareness, networking, and collaborative problem-solving among border security stakeholders
- Identify mechanisms for strengthening the engagement of border states, Local Government Areas, and communities in border security management
